AI providers
The AI features in SmartMatrix apps — recipe ideas, quiz questions, the HyperChat assistant… — run on your own account with an AI provider. You only need one key. Not sure which? Pick OpenAI: it's the only one that can also create images.
What is an API key, and what does it cost?
- An API key is a long code, like a password, that lets SmartMatrix use AI on your behalf. You create it on the provider's website and paste it here once.
- You pay the provider directly for what you use — usually a few cents per request. A chat subscription such as ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro does not include API use; you add a small prepaid credit on the provider's site instead.
- When you save a key we check it with the provider first. It is stored encrypted and never shown again; you can remove it here at any time, or revoke it on the provider's website.
Your apps
Apps your account can open. Access is granted by the administrator.
Delete account
This permanently deletes your SmartMatrix account: sign-in, app permissions, preferences, stored AI keys and the Google Calendar connection. Data you created inside individual apps (workouts, recipes, projects…) is stored by each app and is not removed automatically.
